Shelley Faye Lazar celebrates colour on textiles, specializing in pure silks and pure wools.

Techniques are highly varied and no two pieces are ever the same. In purchasing your own piece of work

you will own a unique artwork – be it a silk square, silk scarf, wool scarf, pashmina, or throw.

“Vibrant colours are my speciality, and the way one colour plays against the other. Here in the beautiful Wye valley the varying

hues of the changing seasons and the vast spectrum of the surrounding landscapes are a great influence on my work.

Silk and wool give exciting contrasts as bases for the dyes. Silk produces clean and vibrant blocks of colour,

while the wool has a life and a will of its own. Allowing myself to succumb to this ‘will of the wool’ is exciting and entertaining.

To lose myself in the art of painting and dyeing results in a constant desire to further techniques and designs.”

Pieces for sale include crêpe de Chine silk squares and long scarves, merino wool scarves, pashminas, and wool throws.

It’s highly recommended that you purchase an item when you first see it as individual pieces can never be re-created.
