Inspiration

It’s all due to my four legged companion!

Still marvelling at this wonderful autumn and all the inspiration that I absorb from being out and about with Jesse the Lurcher. It took me back to the series of photographs I showed on Instagram a while ago, with a hand painted silk scarf and the inset featuring my colour inspiration. So, I thought I’d show the one with Jesse and the scarf that came from him. Lurcher cognoscenti call him blue, and indeed, in some light, in some seasons, he can appear a cool blue, but just watching him, stroking him, playing with him there are so many shades, and so much fun redistributing the colours into strips! The scarf is long gone, never to be repeated! My work is so spontaneous that it’s only afterwards, when I look at it, I think, “Oh yes! Those colours came from the pot I was given, the poster in France, the stained glass window.” (All the pictures are still there, on my Instagram posts) Either consciously or not, I must have a filling cabinet of colours within me and that’s why I could open the drawer and paint all day!
But, then Jesse needs another walk, and my head gets filled once again by what I see around me on the walk!
